Camp Clearing

This is the center of the ThunderClan camp. ThunderClanners sit around here sharing tongues, stuffing their bellies and gossiping all day long - unless they have other duties to perform. The ground is comprised of soft dirt and sand, and on one side, it is shaded by an old tree where the warriors often go to eat. The fresh-kill pile is in the center, near the highrock, and is almost always stocked with food. Sometimes kits come out to play on sunny days, while elders are commonly seen enjoying the sun and harassing apprentices. In the winter, a thick layer of snow will evenly cover the entire camp, and many ThunderClanners will give in to their playful nature and chase around. The highrock, where the leader makes their announcements, sits more or less across from the camp entrance and is a main focal point of the ravine.

Leader's Den

This is where the leader eats, sleeps and holds private meetings with his or her deputy and medicine cat to chat about the clan. It resides on the side of the Highrock, though more underneath it than anything; protected by the huge stone, the den itself is quite large.Lichen hangs over the entrance to aid in concealment, and inside, the ground is littered with moss for nests.

Medicine Cats Den

The medicine cat's den is a large clearing with nests ready for sick cats. Two large rocks form a crevice where the medicine cat sleeps and where herbs are stored. The clearing itself is slightly behind this, covered by ferns, and has a puddle of water in the center, so sick cats do not have to venture out of camp. The den is abundant in ferns and moss, but it is not the most well-protected area of the camp; to make up for it, the den is farthest away from the entrance, set at the very end of the ravine and relatively tucked out of sight. Cats in the past have used this place to secretly exit into the territory.

Warrior's Den

A small tunnel leads to the warrior's den, which is set underneath an enormous, ancient bush. In the center is where the most senior warriors get to sleep, while younger warriors crowd around the edges. There are always fresh, unoccupied nests ready for the next resident. Perhaps the most spacious of all the dens, the warrior's den sits to the left of the camp entrance, so intruders are immediately apprehended.

Apprentice's Den

Apprentices sleep in this small but nice clearing, located by a tree stump and sheltered with ferns. Apprentices must get up early to start training, so often the den is in a bit of a messy wreck. Afterwards, the apprentices must clean up the moss they've scattered around, along with the elder's den.

Nursery

This is the nursery, a fairly large space for queens to come during pregnancy and to care for their kits. The ground is soft so that the kits cannot hurt themselves when they play, and it is well-hidden from hawks and other birds of prey by thick foliage. The queens work long and hard on the nursery walls to keep them thick with thorns, making the nursery the safest and most guarded place in the ThunderClan camp. Some cats have made a secret exit here, just in case the queens and their kits need an escape route.

Elders' Den

This is where the elders go to live out their days in retirement. It is a shady spot underneath a fallen tree, and the den itself is built into the hollow trunk. Very warm and soft, it has the unfortunate side effect of being occasionally damp, which gives some of the elders aching joints. Apprentices and kits often gather around here to listen to the elders tell stories, and warriors and leaders come to listen to their guidance and advice.

Board Information & Statistics

Camp
ThunderClan camp is situated at the foot of a dry, sandy ravine and sheltered by thorn bushes, which makes it hard to attack and easy to defend. The entrance is well hidden, and the entire rift was formed by the flow of an ancient river. This river shaped many of the features in the camp, particularly the rocks, and sand can still be found in great quantities here. Tall ferns and trees keep the birds of prey out while still allowing the sun in. Near the ravine is a small spring, which is a perfect water source, close and accessible.
